Breakfast Banana Strawberry Smoothie

Makes: 1 Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon Wheat Germ
1 Cup Soy/Rice Milk
1 Banana
1/4 Cup Strawberries
2-3 Cups Ice (optional)

Directions:

1) Puree ice in blender (optional).
2) Add ingredients & blend.
3) Enjoy!

Pear Smoothie

The secret to getting a much stronger flavour in this smoothie is not peeling the skins off of the pears, just be sure to wash them really well.

 

Ingredients

·        3 pears
·        ½ inch fresh ginger
·        3 tbsp fresh yogurt
·        ½ tsp cinnamon
·        4 cubes ice
 

1.     Gradually juice the pear, ginger and cinnamon together. Transfer mixture into a blender, pour in yogurt and ice and blend until creamy and smooth.

2.     Pour into serving glasses and serve immediately.

 

Makes 2 glasses

Mango Smoothie

To make this smoothie the best it can possible be, use fresh ripe mangoes. If mangoes are unavailable you can substitute it with 1 cup natural unsweetened mango juice.
Ingredients
·        1 mango, peeled and chopped
·        1 banana, peeled
·        3 tbsp yogurt
·        1 tsp honey
·        ½ tsp cinnamon
·        4 cubes ice
1.     One at a time, gradually add ingredients into the jar of a blender and purée until smooth.

2.     Pour into serving glasses and serve immediately.

Makes 2 glasses

Banana and Yogurt Smoothie

Ingredients
·        1 ripe banana, thinly sliced
·        1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
·        ¾ cup skim milk
·        Cinnamon, optional
1.     Set aside 2-3 slices of the banana, and place the rest into a food processor along with the yogurt and skim milk. Blend until smooth.

2.     Once smooth, pour into a glass and scatter extra slices of banana over top and sprinkle on the cinnamon, if using.

Serves 1

Berry Mint Smoothie

This smoothie is packed with potassium and vitamin C, to energize your you and make you feel great.  
 Ingredients
·        2 ripe bananas, cut into large pieces
·        1 cup blueberries
·        ½ cup raspberries
·        1 cup cranberry juice
·        2 tsp chopped fresh mint
·        Mint Sprigs, for garnish
1.     Add banana, blueberries, raspberries, cranberry juice and chopped mint into a blender. Purée until smooth.
2.     Chill liquid in the fridge until cold. Pour into glasses and sprinkle mint sprigs on top. Serve.
Makes 2 glasses

·        1½ cups plain fat-free yogurt
·        3 to 4 bananas, peeled and cut into chunks
·        3 cups strawberries, stems removed and roughly chopped
·        ¼ cup soy milk
·        2 tbsp honey
·        1 cup ice
1.     One at a time, gradually add ingredients into the jar of the blender and puree until smooth. Serve immediately.
Makes 4 smoothies
